INTRODUCTION
Ron Morris has a Bachelor of Science
Degree from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. He is a forensic document
examiner with over 35 years of experience and has testified as an expert over
250 times in various federal, state, and local courts, courts in the District of
Columbia, and Military Courts Martial.
He holds

He
is a published author. He wrote the book, “Forensic Handwriting
Identification/Fundamental Concepts and Principles,” and is a contributor to,
“The Encyclopedia of Forensic Sciences,” both published by Academic Press. He
is also co-author of “Access Device Fraud and Related Financial Crimes,”
published by CRC Press.
He has
written other published and nonpublished articles, curriculum for and taught
numerous training programs on handwriting identification and other forensic
document examinations at the International Association of Financial Crime
Investigators, Virginia Public Defenders, The Oregon State Police Laboratory and
other law enforcement and investigative personnel. He has written and presented
technical papers and conducted workshops at professional organizations, such as
the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, The Mid-Atlantic Association of
Forensic Sciences, etc.
He has served as a
technical adviser to the Canadian Standards Council, International Standards
Organization, as a member of a team of technical experts conducting
accreditation surveys of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Laboratories in
Ottawa, Edmonton, and Regina, Canada.
He retired from
the United States Secret Service (USSS), Forensic Services Division in January
1998 and formed Ronald N. Morris & Associates, Inc. (RNM&AI). While with the
USSS, he received numerous awards and accommodations for his work with them, and
other government and non-government organizations. He is an internationally
recognized expert and has worked cases from Canada, Great Britain, The
Netherlands, Hong Kong, Thailand, and others. While with the USSS, he served as
Chairman of the sub-group of experts for an INTERPOL work group, and worked with
investigators from international corporations to include American Express,
MasterCard, VISA, Discover, Bank of America, CitiCorp, Wells Fargo, First Union,
Wachovia, etc.
Since forming RNM&AI, he has provided forensic handwriting and
hand printing identification and other questioned document services to attorneys
in Northern Virginia, and the Virginia cities/counties of, Charlottesville,
Lynchburg, Harrisonburg, Portsmouth, Staunton, Bedford, Roanoke, Martinsburg,
and cases from the states of Maryland, Florida, Utah, North Carolina, West
Virginia, Massachusetts, the District of Columbia, Oklahoma, California,
Washington, Oregon, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, and Pennsylvania.
Among his clients, he has provided forensic document services to
United Airlines, Alcoa, Best Buy, Household Finance, Vance International,
Decision Strategies, and other corporations, and worked with U.S. Government
agencies, such as the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the FBI
Laboratory—Questioned Document Branch—and the U.S. Secret Service Forensic
Services Division on forensic document projects.

documents in divorces, contracts, patent infringement, bank and corporate fraud,
and other cases where the identification of writers or the alteration or
fabrication of documents are involved.
